Napolitano: "The system worked"
DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up the Amsterdam-Detroit flight this week demonstrated that "the system worked."
Asked by CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union" how that could be possible when the young Nigerian who sought to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the flight, Napolitano responded: "We're asking the same questions."
Napolitano added that there was "no suggestion that [the bomber] was improperly screened."
Well, the one thing it proved, you are responsible for your own security.
The system worked great. The guy got on a plane headed to Detroit without a passport!

Y’all are mistaken about which system she is referring to, she means the system by which Islamo terrorists can plan and carry out an attack...that worked well. This statement would be true if "the system" this booger eating moron is describing was that passengers were being trained and paid to attack and disarm terrorists. If that were really the case, the way to improve "the system" would be to give every non-muslim passenger a handgun with frangible ammunition in order to be even more efficient at taking out potential terrorists.

Napolitano is by this statement possibly the stupidest person on the planet. The system didn’t work; we were blessed by having an enemy stupid and incompetent enough to be Napolitano’s intellectual equal.

It is a sobering thing to contemplate- this woman is in charge of our safety.
The "system" was a courageous, take-control young man onboard from the Netherlands.
This needs to be FRONT AND CENTER A GOP/CONSERVATIVE ELECTION ISSUE FOR 2010. Especially after the al Qaeda are eventually successful in taking down one of our birds with hundreds of people aboard, due to lack of security, cavalier Obama attitude, and political correctness gone rampant--which say has a better than even chance in 2010 in the opening months.
The only "system" that I can see so far that works is the "EL-AL" system.
They tell passengers to be alert for "suspicious behavior" but THEY WILL NOT SAY TO BE ON THE ALERT FOR SUSPICIOUS TYPES OF PEOPLE. And in the case of a skilled operator of a PETN bomb, such "suspicious behavior" can be over and done with in a matter of 20 seconds. How in the hell are American citizens on airplanes going to be able to stop a disaster by being alert for that lightning-quick "behavior" while the US Government and system under Obama continues to allow suspected terrorists in addition to any and all young Muslims to ride our nation's airliners?
