I generally disagree with nearly everything Obama does, but I view at this as a sign of courtesy. I would do the same if my wife and I were entering the room together. He may be a jackass, but I don't fault him for this.

I agree. I would be extremely disgusted if he had went in first. However, In some cultures husbands force wives to walk first in case a poisonous snake is hidden in the path.

As Commander in Chief preparing to meet the Marines, the President of the United States should enter the room first.

It's protocol for a leader of his magnitude to be in the room first, and has nothing to do with being a "gentleman."

But then again, this is the same idiot that gave Region 1 DVD sets to the British who use Region 2 technology.

There has never been, nor will there ever be, any sense of proper protocol within the street trash that are in the White House.
