How we got our country back
The National Post ^ | December 26, 2009 | Jonathan Kay

'My country seems to be slipping away in front of my very eyes," former NDP campaign director Gerald Caplan wrote in a Dec. 4 op-ed for a Toronto area newspaper. "Our proud identity, our cherished core values ... are being turned upside down. Gun control advocates are out, gun apologists are in. Preventing war is out, killing scumbags is in. Demonstrations for peace are out, demonstrations of a martial spirit are in. Thoughtful, restrained Canadianism is out, hand-on-heart Yankee-style patriotism is in."

That's the place Gerald Caplan says is "slipping away." He's right. Good riddance.

This guy may be a bit giddy from too much champagne, as the Canadian electorate is pretty fickle. But the Canadian left is still divided, the Liberals still can't find much of a leader, and Harper is still Prime Minister, even if it still is with a minority government. Could be worse.

This is probably over the top. This is Canada we’re talking about.

Every successful political movement needs a disciplinarian. But it also needs a badass -- a guy with the guts to expand the range of acceptable political speech and gestures, for the benefit of everyone else in the movement, both inside and outside the government

Cheney is ours.

Another favorite from the article...

Last month, Kenney released a new citizenship guide for immigrants -- a document that symbolizes, more than anything else, how much Ottawa has changed over the last decade. It contained this line: "Canada's openness and generosity do not extend to barbaric cultural practices that tolerate spousal abuse, 'honour killings,' female genital mutilation or other gender-based violence. Those guilty of these crimes are severely punished under Canada's criminal laws."

Well like that will ever happen in this country.
We have Commies running the country, and can never miss a chance to smooch the brown area of Muzzlems butte.

We need to have a National Bonfire, bring in your Lay-z-boy recliners and stoke the fire with them...

This is probably over the top. This is Canada we’re talking about.

I was in Mississauga, ON on business two weeks ago, and the nephew of one of the engineers I was working with had been taken from his home to jail, and his home searched for illegal weapons. This all came about because he had used a handgun to kill or shoot at a skunk in the henhouse and his neighbor reported him.

Hard to imagine that happening here, but it only came about THERE because of "progressive" lawmakers with the best intentions being voted into office.

Gerard Caplan and his kind, are the folks who let the folks in who use these guns.

Canada had tons more guns in the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s.

But, they didn’t have the sort of folk that used them in criminal felonies.

Guns don’t create crime.

But lib-leftards who let in the criminal element do.
