Suspicious Bags Found on Lufthansa Flight from Iceland

The person who owned the bags stayed behind.

What happened to the rule that if a passenger with checked baggage did not show up that the baggage had to be found and removed?? I thought that was standard practice, and if it is not is should be.

Could have been anything. Guy checks his bags, goes back to the parking lot for something and drops dead, for instance.

No, a dry run would not have combined elements for the complete detonation.

More than likely, a failed attempt.
