The rampant idiocy being exhibited by "US Officials" is unbelievable. The passengers and the crew took the necessary actions to save themselves and prevent a possible tragedy. This incident should be a lesson to everyone - no one is going to "save you" except yourself.

Rather than some loose cannon going off half-cocked somewhere, I believe we should picture Obama's Muslim advisors generating lists of guidelines to be followed by all the rank-and-file TSA-types, negotiated so CAIR won't scream "profiling!". (Of course we all know they used to scream, "Bloody murder! (translated from "Alahu Akhbar!") before they had Soetero. (The tune is the same, the words are properly and politically correct.))

The Ft. Hood Major Nidal Hasan seems to have been one of those advisors. Like Hasan's colleagues, who with rare exception certainly don't qualify as idiots, the "U.S. Officials" of which you speak, under pain of losing their jobs in a deep recession, are kept from speaking out against their better judgment, as they like keeping food on their tables.
