people coming into USA from certain countries are considered refugees and can come in without passports (interesting, we can’t even go to Mexico and back without a passport, but people from some of the poor African countries can come in without passports)..... there was some man with this guy who insisted he was a refugee (according to witnesses) and they managed to get him on the plane as such (according to reports I’ve read today).
Why are you so defensive of a Muslim terrorist who tried to kill 300 people?
There’s a report of a second arrest that day. Another passenger whose bag set off alarms or possible bomb sniffing dogs. The report was made by a husband and wife who were passengers on the plane.
I have not found any news agencies who are reporting on it....may be some attention seeker or there is much much more to this story then we’ve uncovered.
I wish Greta would look into the report of the 2nd arrest.
missed Greta last night but thanks for that info
“Why are you so defensive of a Muslim terrorist who tried to kill 300 people?”
Many of us here are waiting for an answer to that very question.
Hmmm? Maybe 0bama is a FReeper?
Has anyone reported on the break down in communication on the day of the terrorist attack? In that O didn’t learn of the attack for 3+ hours? Isn’t that considered a break down in the communication process in regards to O’s lack of hands on approach?
Just curious if anyone has asked his handlers why he wasn’t informed right away?
Greta has brought it up on her show and discussed the delay with John Bolton.
As far as I know knowbody in the media has had the cajones to ask Gibb’s about it. Can’t ask Obama, he won’t allow the press to ask him any questions.
Did they confirm the 3 hour delay?
The White House confirmed the delay in their initial press statement, released the day of the attack.
In it they say Obama was brifed at 9-9:30am Hawaii time, the plane landed in Detroit at 1:00pm Est, however that was different from original reports directly from the White House.
Another report was the same spokesperson who put out the press release said that day it was 3 hours; this was prior to the press release (which came out incidently after the WaPo reported 3 hours and this thread went up).
Basically there has been a lot of ass covering with this.
Greta is going with a 3 hour delay in her reports.
Why are you defending the man who helped the Nigerian on board without the proper paperwork?
Do you have evidence of this or do you simply have evidence that the initial report was incorrect and that they later corrected it without drawing attention to their earlier mistake?
Occams Razor says to go with the explanation that is simplest and doesn't rely on a conspiracy.
Plane lands about 1 pm (I think FOX reported 12:51 pm) which was about 8 am Honolulu time. Early reports say Obama was briefed between 9-9:30 am. The fact that our sharp poster didn't catch the time zone differences should go a long way in showing that maybe the original reporter didn't catch it either and that is what WaPo corrected? Funny, too, that one of the freepers who excoriated me also admitted that there was info that Obama was notified even before the plane landed and that in her opinion the facts were muddled.
A 60 minute time frame to gather enough facts to brief the president without embarrassing one's self seems pretty reasonable....or do we expect people to feed live, unfiltered, instantaneous streams of current events to him without investigation and verification?
Brytani, the story you posted showed that it only took an hour for obama to get a briefing. That really isn't a lot of time.
Short notice for a Powerpoint and nicely bound briefing booklet, perhaps. But for crying out loud man, we're talking a terrorist attack above an American city. You can't be serious that it's reasonable to delay telling the President in order to "avoid embarrassing oneself." Whether it's the reported three hours or your rejiggered one hour time frame, it's flat out ridiculous.
FYI every international flight coming into the USA has to give a manifest of all passengers to the USA and we tell them we will accept all the passengers or we will not... if a man, on the terror watchlist, is on that list and has no passport it was up to our government to tell them that person cannot come here on the flight.
My understanding is that this guy was not on the No Fly List.
You said he didn’t need a passport as a refugee, right?
Looks like someone studied the system to find the flaws and they were able to weave their way through the loopholes and possibly use bribery/coercion when needed.
Then next New and Improved system will be thought perfect until proven otherwise.
Then we’ll have more outrage because the system lacked perfection.
For someone who has spent a good part of the postings on this thread calling Freepers assholes and idiots, and claiming they did NOT read the report, you sure have some reading yourself to do.
The original article I posted said clearly a 3 hour delay. The WaPo pulled THAT line and went with a time frame, later given in a press release by the White House.
This was covered and achieved on this post with multiple links from google with the original 3 hours time frame.
The administration itself has given two different times of notification for Obama - first, 3 hours as originally stated to reporters during a press phone call (source of the original WaPo report). The later changed that to Obama being informed from 9-9:3-am Hawaii time.
All of the cover-ups, ass covering and changes have been reported on this thread. If you had not spent your entire time on here going after other Freepers, name calling and arguing that Obama didn’t even need to be told about this incident you may have known that.
Go defend your comments and Obama’s incompetence elsewhere - maybe DU or another place where covering for this SOB in the White House and his corrupt administration is par for the course.
Please provide some evidence of a cover up as opposed to WaPo making an actual mistake that WaPo then corrected. I just haven’t seen evidence of anything other than possible mistakes when going back to the article you posted and looking at the timeline.
Pulling and replacing a posted article proves nothing.
If you look at the personal attacks levied against me, like your most recent post, versus those you claim I made against others, I think that y’all been a lot cruder and insulting than I by far.
And it was very evident that many of the posters never clicked the link and read the article since they were screaming at me for quotes pulled from the article! It seems like you’re defending them for not reading the article. I’m not sure you did, either.
Going bonkers because someone thinks that a (OMG OMG OMG) 3 hour time to gather facts and make a report is too long is rather knee jerk, especially when the evidence doesn’t support the claim.
Are you POSITIVE that whomever wrote the first article with the 3 hour delay actually knew what they were talking about and didn’t screw up the time zones?
You’re making allegations that you seem unable to prove and then getting angry with me for asking you to verify your claims.
You’ve made insulting allegations that I support Obama while ignoring my posts that clearly question his competence or intentions.
IMO your Obama Derangement Syndrome has made all this a personal issue with you instead of a quest for the truth and fixes to the problem. But you justify it by saying that since the left did it to Bush, you can now, too.
Whatever.
You’ve stated how you want obama to do this, this, this, and that....please be careful what you wish for because he is prone to get too involved in issues and I don’t think you really want him getting into the nitty gritty of travel or how Americans conduct themselves. But he will if enough of you keep insisting on it.
Perhaps you missed the news yesterday that the CIA and State both dropped the ball on this guy.
What should they have done? Arrested him? Disappeared him? Was there enough on him to put him on the No Fly list?
Yes he should have been on the no-fly list... the ball was dropped and your defense of this fact boggles the brain.
