Detroit Metro is not “in” Detroit, but Romulus, and sits right next to I-94. There was a pretty bad crash back in ‘87 I think it was, Northwest flight went down right after take off (same airport) and crashed on the highway. Only one survivor - a baby/toddler.

Yep, Flight 255. 16 August 1987. 156 fatalities, one survivor. Pilots didn’t have the flaps set right and she stalled out on takeoff. The little girl who lived graduated from U of Alabama with a degree in psychology back in’06.
