This is evidence of how they will not be able to impose tyranny. They fail at mere peacetime competence.

In a way, tyranny is easier than peacetime competence. Peacetime competence requires, well, competence. Tyranny just requires brute force.

This is already tyranny. Terrorists and known Jihadis are given a pass, while the patriotic soldier boarding a plane is stripped of his Leatherman's (wouldn't want to endanger any Jihadis that get the SJS urge to wreak havoc on the sheep.)..
