Since you asked...
If you look at the rocks and landscape in the early part of the video it looks the same as the Lone Ranger opening and some of the Star Trek locales. There's a ranch in soCal where a lot of these scenes were shot.
Merry Christmas!
Monkey bushmeat is commonly consumed in tropical Africa. Monkey meat is prepared fresh in rural areas. It is also smoked to preserve it and allow it to be sent to market in the cities. A common sight along rural roads is smoked whole monkeys for sale, tales tied to heads to make carrying handles. Fresh monkey meat is often cooked in a Tomato Sauce made from tomatoes, chile peppers, and onions. Smoked monkey meat can be prepared in a Tomato-Peanut sauce: Soak the smoked meat in water, then rinse and drain it. Fry tomatoes, onions, chile pepper, in hot palm oil. Add tomato paste and the monkey meat. Simmer until all is tender. Season with salt and pepper.
My uncle was a writer and knew “Crash” Corrigan, one of the “3 Mesquiteers” and owner of “Corriganville”.
My mom said Crash held me in his arms when I was a baby. My 15 seconds of fame.
Merry CHRISTmas.
Sky...This is Penney. Where are you?? The North Pole??
Don’t forget the comedic charms of RED SKELTON!
We had the same type of Saturday matinees at the base theater at Aviano Air Base in Italy in the early 1960’s. Old cowboy movies and Republic serials still remind me of those great Saturdays.
Same here at Heidelberg Army Base in Germany in 56 and 57. As a 9 yr old kid would go to see such movies as Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis for a nickel while sucking on a huge Charm Sucker!
That’s too bad. We met him when we visited his museum when it was in California. We went through the tour and at the end, he came around the corner and shook our hands. I know my dad was thrilled because I didn’t know who he was (I was about 5).
I loved Amos & Andy!!
What about Roy? did they stuff Roy as well? ;->
“Fresh monkey meat is often cooked in a Tomato Sauce made from tomatoes”
Well that is an original recipe. From Tomato’s ‘eh? LOL Sorry a cheap shot but had to do it. LOL
Reading through all this, I just keep hearing, “Pardon me, Roy, is that the cat that chewed your new shoes?”
I got to meet Tim Holt (Jr), which was a hoot for me because I thought he was really sexy. He was very nice. He was one of those guys who looked and dressed off-screen the same as on-screen.
wow, i recall fibber/molly only because it was on classic radio. I do barely recall Amos and Andy and being shocked that they could not play it I enjoyed it.
Those were the days!!

Roy Rogers will ALWAYS be a good guy in my book.
