Noting the unreliability of the judicial system as an effective determinant between "guilty" and "innocent" I am not a big fan of capital punishment, but...

...not going to quibble over this one, so long as they nab the real perps.

I'll even say "Hang them. The slow way." Give them a little extra time to think about the God in front of whose judgment throne they will shortly be standing.

There is always the possibility of repentance.

Yet you're not a big fan of capital punishment? Then who is to decide which proven murderers should pay with their life? For example, you're okay with extinguishing these killers' lives so long as they are proven to have committed the crime.

Many agree with you but they extend this punishment to all heinous murderers who have been proven, without a doubt, that they are guilty of murder. IOW, they, and I include myself, believe they should die for their crime(s). If it weren't risky to the victims, I'd include rapists.

If I ever change my mind on this, I'll be willing to say so at Free Republic.
