I can always get water from the pool or the nearby pond, but then how do you make it safe to drink? Filter it to remove sediment & then put in 1 drop of chlorine bleach per cup of water. If you boil the water to purify it, transfer it back and forth between two bottles to re-aerate it - tastes better that way.

Add a couple of steps to the processes, and you can distill other things, as well that would be good in a barter economy. Cheers!
