If I HAD to make a prediction today, I would have to predict that some form of the bill passes. It’s too damn important to The One and the democrats aren’t about to let him become The Once. Passing “something” opens the door for authortarian health care and they can add to it until they lose their solid majorities.

They are caught between a rock and hard place.

Neither Bill is acceptable to the other branch.

There is nothing left to compromise.

The anti-abortion language and Public option are nonnegotiable by both sides, and they are what is going to destroy this Bill.

You can't be that naive and gullible. Have you ever been involved in negotiations? First, this is an internal matter within the Dem party. Each faction will make their demands, but you can bet that they will reach agreement. In any real negotiation, each side starts with its optimum position, i.e., they ask for everything they want and make it sound like it is their final offer. Then the real negotiating begins.

You can bet that the Dems will compromise and reach an agreement. Failure to pass a health care bill will destroy the Obama administration and its future agenda. Moreover, it will wound the Dem party seriously and fracture it. The base will be angry and demoralized. The Dems have huge majorities in Congress not seen for almost 30 years. To squander it due to infighting is just not going to happen. There will be a health care bill passed. Unlike the Reps, the Dems are not suicidal.
