Sheesh, people. Vick served his time, is doing his bit for “animal welfare”-type charities, managed to get back into NFL-quality shape, and has truly added a new dimension to the Eagles with his play, smoothly platooning with McNabb. Things could go badly in the future, of course, but I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now that he has found redemption.

His teammates know him better than any of us, and if they wanted to give him this award, I’m not second-guessing them.

Sure a lot of “first-stone casters” around here today.

Forgiveness is allowing him to earn a living after serving his time ... earning multi-millions of dollars ... in his chosen vocation.

IMO, it does not mean bestowing some feel-good, bogus award upon him that makes a mockery of the meaning of "courage".
