Dayum. We’re hearing some out-of-character, ‘tough talk’ from Orin. I’ll gag if he manages to praise Kennedy before he finishes his remarks.

Here’s Sessions and now Kyl.

They’re inserting the CBO director’s letter into the record.

Baucus is trying to defuse the letter from the CBO director dated TODAY, December 23, 2009.

It *is* the latest document.

Baucus is saying that the CBO still says that Obamacare will reduce the deficit. Maybe the CBO will correct its misleading estimates after BO signs the bill?

Senators are voting on Ensign’s Constitutional challenge to the bill.

Collins voted “aye” also.

Got to hand it to the Republicans. They’re united at long last.

We all know the Democrat SOP by now.

They will claim that it reduces the deficit, then vote on it, then "amend" their budget finding later (just like GDP growth number that went from 3.5% down to 2.2%) after Obama's crowing press conference.

but, but, but, I thought Democrats and Republicans are all alike.
The only people who say that are third party loons and a few of the radio & TV talking heads who work for ratings
and ego not for facts.

Yeah, both parties are alike. /s

That rhetoric is both tiresome and completely wrong.

We have our weak sisters and girliemen, but they’re incumbents. Get rid of them with new blood and we’re good to go for the gold.

Just tuning back in...was there a press conference? Did it get any coverage or traction?

ooh and aaahh, now we have them...notice how this great action got somewhere?

Duh.

When will we hear a group of R-senators took something to the SCOTUS? These guys deep down don’t care as they build their pork kingdoms, too and their sentiment is largely an act.

When will we hear a group of R-senators took something to the SCOTUS?

Senators (or Congressmen) can't take legislation to the SCOTUS. It requires "standing" -- the law has to have actually been passed and somebody needs to be harmed by it.

In 2006, however, a Senator did, in fact, take legislation to SCOTUS -- because, as an elected official, he did have "standing" under the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Act.

The Senator was Sen. Mitch McConnell -- now the Minority Leader of the Senate -- and he won part of his case.

There's no need to give any Republican Senators grief on this particular issue. Yet.

I am tired of hearing this B/S, so what, what can we do as private citizens, nothing.Or only hope is to replace enough members of the house, in order to slow things down. The chances of doing this are slim and none. As Joseph Stalin said, “ I don’t care who votes, I am interested in who counts the votes”. What are we going to do with things like Acorn, helping to count the votes. People had better get ready for a loss of all personal rights under this band of Rats.
