Who's to Blame for Obamacare? Two Republicans (Obama is the ultimate Republicrat legacy)
Human Events ^ | 2009-12-22 | Mark Skousen

Posted on 12/22/2009 7:29:27 PM PST by rabscuttle385

This week the Senate grinches stole Christmas. The Obama Nation is getting Obamacare.

It’s easy to blame the sixty Democrats, as the Wall Street Journal does, for "the worse bill ever." It solemnly declares: "These 60 Democrats are creating a future of epic increases in spending, taxes and command--and control regulation."

True enough. But what's the root cause of this permanent disaster?

Sorry, friends, but it’s not the Democrats, nor the American people who elected them.

The real culprits are two Republicans who ran the show the previous eight years: George W. Bush and his "master political strategist" Karl Rove. If it weren’t for these two in the White House, the Democrats wouldn’t have sixty senators, including a professional comedian from Minnesota, to close off debate and ram down our throats a bill worse than Hillary Care.

The fact is that the Bush & Rove act pushed through a litany of ruinous government policies that led to the lowest approval numbers in history:

The supply-side tax cuts were probably the only major piece of economic legislation that Bush/Rove deserve credit for, but even then, they blundered in not making the tax cuts permanent. So now even if the Republicans take back Capitol Hill in the 2010 elections, all President Obama has to do is veto an extension of the Bush tax cuts, and voila, taxes will increase automatically.

In short, we are paying a heavy price for the "compassionate conservativism" of Bush/Rove.

Once Obamacare becomes law, like Medicare and other "Great Society" programs, it will never end. We will be stuck with national health care for the rest of our lives.

And how are Bush and Rove rewarded? We aren’t seeing much of George Bush, who is quietly ensconced in his new digs in Texas.

The tragedy is Karl Rove, who ironically has been rewarded by conservatives. He’s treated like a triumphant general on Fox News almost every night and was signed on as a regular columnist in the prestigious Wall Street Journal.

That is an interesting graph. Looks like LBJ is the guy responsible for the bloated federal government I’ve known all my life.

That’s democrat_media’s graph.

You’re right though. LBJ and his “Great Society.”

That b@stard was one of the worst. In fact, I still consider him more mendacious than Carter. Johnson was evil on so many fronts. I’ll never forgive him for the mismanagement of Vietnam, but I hated him for several reasons. I hated the whole damn Johnson family. Sickening people.

W was the greatest disaster in the the history of the Republican party, akin to our Gorby. We handed W all three branches of government, and what did duhbya do? W destroyed 7 generations of Republican’s work after the ashes of 1932. W encouraged the mindless illegal immigration problem, and increased legal immigration from the third world, both of which guarantee a permanent Republican minority in the future. W handled both wars mindlessly, forgetting MacArthur’s dictum that in war there is no substitute for victory (don’t make me puke if you say that W was fighting the war right). If we are fighting them over there, so we don’t have to fight them here, why did W keep bringing them here? Nothing incenses our soldiers more than seeing mosques pop up here like Spring flowers.
Skousen is right to lay blame at the feet of W, Rove, and McQueeg; all rinos whose leadership has had disastrous results.
Obongo and his communist handlers are going to use the census to count illegal aliens as citizens for the purpose of apportionment, and give the Democrats 40 or more seats as a result in 2012 (this is one of the reasons that they don’t care about what might happen in 2010). In the meantime, Obongo will likely push through amnesty, and we all know how that will benefit the conservative cause. W was our last chance, and he FUBARed it.

AMEN!!! Please do not forget that Bush worked with the Democrats to force amnesty for over 21 million illegal aliens on the American people. The man is like his father, a globhalist. To my way of thinking that makes him a traitor.

No one knows about those democrat quotes about WMDs

Conservatives do.

It is because rats didnt use them to start/sell...

You're wrong again. The Democrats voted for the war. Then they campaigned against the war after the troops had already been deployed.

Some issues I disagreeded with Bush but your talking points
are not based on reality.

You speak for victory in war, yet praise an anti war article and thread.

BUSH IS A RINO;

Have we forgotton because it was such a long time ago, or is it just because Obama is so much worse?

A year ago I was constantly hearing on this forum of the corruption/liberal policies of GWB from average freepers..now you want to defend him?

The author is right on, on the points (about GWBs expansion of “Big-Government” which would be socialism/liberalism)?

I challenge any one of you defending him to disprove the author on point.

Those with 'that sickness' will habitually vilify Pres. Bush 'til their dying day, and joyfully expend more keystrokes spewing their vicious hatred of him than they do against a truly evil man with active diabolical plans for America. Pitiful.

And as if Skousen's the be all/end all and completely apolitical... LOL ..

THAT’S RICH! You’ve out done yourself, my dear.

The guy’s political donations are very interesting.

Steele, Romney, Ron Paul (of course) and Harry Brown..LOL.

No wonder he hates Rove.

BDS. Alive and sick as ever. I think it’s fatal. Obamacare will kill it.

GWB was a fine President but he had warts, just like any other former President. Obama is just a wart, period.

Compared to zero bush is the second coming of George Washington but that doesn't mean bush was a great or even good president. He fully supported and expanded big government. He done nothing to secure our borders even at the height of the "war on terrorism." In fact, he was foaming at the mouth while waiting to sign an amnesty bill.
