John & Ken (KFI AM 640, LA afternoon drive) were talking about this. Can you believe this - 3 weeks off for Fed employees, in $100+ per night hotels, for a nice “break”!? What about taxpayers - ANYONE!?!?!?!!?!?!!

Amazing

It must have been “Pretend We’re Objective Day” at ABC.

These gatherings did not start under Obama. They have gone on for decades and many agencies have annual events like this.

It’s a waste of money and it should be addressed but 5 million is not even a gnat on the butt of the gigantic entitlement debt that will crush our Republic.

The rowdy FAA convention wasn't at just any Atlanta hotel. It was held at the Atlanta Omni Hotel at CNN Center.

The Omni hotel is on the right.

There's no mention of this story at the CNN website.

The Federal government has been getting fat off taxpayers for decades. Federal employees are a class of corpulent drones, not too far removed from the court of Louis the XIV. The only way to improve this is to reduce the size of the government.

My wife is a VA nurse - works in the ICU. Spent a half hour today helping a WWII veteran pee.

Federal employees are a class of corpulent drones..

Don't forget that these drones were ALL MANAGEMENT. The air traffic controllers didn't get so much as a Christmas Ham.

This contract they were "reviewing" had not only been in effect for 2 months, it was essentially the same one that the FAA scrapped 3 years earlier after being in effect for over ten years. An arbitrator, finally allowed to review the non-negotiated employee regulations promulgated by Management, tossed the FAA employee regs and hammered out what was in place before.

$5 million is an FAA "estimate" that encompasses airline tickets for all managers and supervisors and clerical staff, their room and board, and their attendant SALARIES for that week. $5 million is a conservative estimate.
