They could have continued to push the idea that the Senators and Congressman should be forced on same program...

I find it hard to believe the GOP did absolutely everything they could to stop this bill. We need new leaders, desperately,,, we need new leaders.

Unbelievable. I guess Reid scheduling the vote after Christmas was too much to ask.

Gee whiz. Wouldn't want to ruin Christmas by going to work in order to earn money to pay our bills. Oh that's right. I have the 5pm to 2a.m. Shift on the 24th and 11pm to 7 am on the 25 th. But that's cause I'm an evil greedy ER doctor.

well as long as my congressman and senators are enjoying their holidays, that's what is really important in my life.

Here's the problem with this decision, it furthers he detachment of Congress from We the People. This was an opportunity to add effect/attachment to everyone responsible for Ramming this on the necks and ankles of true Americans, that there are CONSEQUENCES!

Republicans, under pressure not to wreck Christmas for lawmakers and their staffs...

That's BS! Harry effin' Reid and his co-whores on the Socialist side, are the ones who pushed the timeline. If the pubbies had any nads, they'd walk out during the vote or to make things even sweeter, walk out tomorrow!

I loathe the Democrats in Congress. But both my Senators and my Congressman are Republicans, and I don’t plan to vote for any of them next time they’re up for election. They’re not worth the effort it would take me to walk over to the polling place.

Apparently, these Republican senators don't want to be in Washington, Christmas Eve to fight this bill.

I would add that few Americans were planning on traveling to Washington Christmas Eve to show their feelings to fight this bill.

We get the politicians we deserve.

What a bunch of a**hats. Screw the country, they have to get home by Christmas, never mind the men/women overseas fighting their butts off for freedom, let’s take the freedom away from them because we have to get home for Christmas! I hate politicians, dimwits or republicans doesn’t matter, most of them are evil, selfish jerks.

‘”The American people are still going to have another month or so, I would guess, to weigh in and express their concerns about this package to each of their representatives,” McConnell said.’

Yes, Moron, you must not have been paying much attention for the last year. Nobody wants nationalized medicine nor any of the other socialist crap being dished out in Washington. Resident Obortion and his minions will hopefully get the message more clearly during the NATIONAL GENERAL STRIKE called for January 20th.

Had the full debate continued, the Senate would have voted at around 9 p.m. Thursday, too late for many lawmakers and their staff members to get home in time for the holiday

Hopefully another major storm will hit about 9 AM, and they'll be stuck in DC anyway. ... I just looked a the forecast for DC... Right now the nasty weather (80% chance freezing rain) is not due until Christmas Day. Well, forecasts can change and weather can move in faster than originally forecast, so there is still hope for change.

Maybe a Senator will have the cajones to SAY THIS:

Press Conference of Senator __________, December 23, 2009

I have called this press conference because I am so distraught I cannot sleep. Something inside me is deeply bothered and I realize I need to take a stand. Though I have been a member of the Democratic party all my life, I've come to realize since last year that my party has been a party in name only. I now know in my heart that the central goals and philosophy of my party are no different than the goals, tenets and philosophy of the Communist Party USA. I am worried about the health care bill and beyond that, what my vote on the bill symbolizes for the future of America. I am concerned about the current holders of power, the Czars and the talk I hear around Washington. None of it is good. I am also deeply troubled that if my vote for the current health care legislation guarantees its passage, then the tide of Cap and Trade, Card Check, Amnesty for illegals and Gun Control will sweep this nation and forever produce a fundamental change in these United States I so deeply love.

I therefore am announcing I will vote No on the current Health Care legislation and vote No on what I feel will be upcoming legislation on Cap and Trade, Amnesty for illegals, Card Check and Gun Control.

Thank You and God Bless America!

I spent quite a few Christmases deployed - preserving, protecting, and defending the Constitution of the United States against foreign enemies. I’m disappointed that the GOP thought it was unreasonable for them to give up one Christmas to defend against domestic enemies of our Constitution.

Boo Friggin Hoo...

The Constitution is being raped and everyone is worried about the Families of the Rich and Infamous Politicians having to delay opening their Christmas presents?

Half of these imbeciles are Pro Abortion Atheists who get off work to celebrate the miracle of the birth of Christ?

I say hang them all and hope there is a special place in Hell where these idiots have to listen to Obama making his pointless speeches 24/7 forever.

Just when I think it can't get any worse, it does.
