From the article

He has bucked the Democratic leadership on nearly all of its major domestic initiatives, including the stimulus package, health care legislation, the cap-and trade energy bill and financial regulatory reform.

He was one of only 11 House Democrats to vote against the stimulus.

When all we have is a two-headed, one party system (like we have), this doesn’t count for much for conservatism’s sake.

I will take him over stinking Newt. I wish for Christmas about 20 Dems would defect to kill ObamaCare. Evil Democrats.

20 wouldn’t be enough; wouldn’t it take 40?

Wolf in sheep’s clothing!!!!! I have heard it from his own mouth on a trip to the state legislature a couple of years ago. This guy is a true-blue, kool-aid drinking douche-bag liberal - a virtual Benedict Arlen waiting to happen.

They need to run a real conservative against him. This guy is as phony as they come.

No Merry Christmas wishes to someone who writes exactly what I wrote as a comment, only did it before I did it.

Meaning you are smarter than me.

Meaning I hate you.

WRONG, WRONG WRONG!!!!!

Read my post on #186. He will end up biting us when it counts the most. I heard him spewing liberal garbage with my own ears. He is a total phony, but he can read the polls.

As Darth Vader said to Obi-Wan Kenobi, “the circle is now complete.” The AL-05 had been voting GOP at the presidential level for decades now (albeit never with the types of margins seen in central and southern AL), and now it will finally have a Republican Representative.

Some thoughts:

Couldn’t Griffith do this before I sent $20 to Les Phillip’s campaign? : )

That will be quite the GOP primary in AL-05. I wonder who will run for the RATs.

Is Bobby Bright next? His CD is far more Republican than Griffith’s, and if Griffith could see the writing on the wall, it must be plastered on with red paint for Bright.

Yes. That made my whole year. Well what's left of it anyways. That's like 9 days or something.

Les Phillips didn’t have a chance. I’m sorry. It’s North Alabama. If he ever did get the nomination some Blue Dog would run and win the election. It is North Alabama and it is the way it is.

In fact, the reason that we are looking at such a good year in this state is because of Obama and the pickle he puts the Dems in and Artur Davis for the same reasons. The Democrats in this state won’t survive the one-two punch of Barack Obama and Artur Davis. The last thing we need to do is nominate Phillips and give them a lifeline. Sad but true.

Has Abercombie announced when his resignation takes effect? He voted for Obamacare, as did Cao, and if Abercrombie is gone and Cao votes against the new bill (which I think he will) it would reduce the number of AYES to 218; if Stupak votes against the bill as well, it would be a 217-all tie (and the bill wouldn’t pass). Of course, I read that 3 of the Dems that voted NO last month have since announced their retirement, and they could be convinced to vote AYE because they no longer have anything to lose politically.

There is one already his name is Les Phillip.
Have met him a few times already. He immigrated to the US as a young child. Worked for everything he got. He has served our country and loves our country. Is raising his children to do the same.

December 14, 2009: Abercrombie said his resignation would take effect “soon.” Typical solon, give a non-answer.

As far as the retiring Rats go, good point-but perhaps the opposite could happen as well: they could vote NO, because they no longer have anything to lose (re-election funding, Rahm’s threats, for example). That would be SWEET!!!

That can be decided in the primary.

If it is really as bad as you insinuate... He will never get out of the primary however, I happen to think your full of it. Maybe any other time you might be correct, but this year the battle field is a little different.

Depends on how you look at it I guess....some people think that America is turning on the Dem party....
