It's delusional to believe that Palin doesn't face a strong headwind. The fact of the matter is while she's incredibly popular with the base, especially social conservatives, she does have a "Dan Quayle" problem with the general electorate.
For a Republican to win back the White House from Obama, they're going to have to do better with independents and moderates than they have ever done in the past. This is because the blacks and the Hispanics won't abandon Obama. Whomever is the nominee, including Palin, will have to be polling north of 58% of Independents to beat Obama. It's a function of mathematics, nothing else.
Every presidential candidate faces a though fight to the White House. Its the path to being the most powerful person on the planet.
“ The fact of the matter is while she's incredibly popular with the base, especially social conservatives, she does have a “Dan Quayle” problem with the general electorate.”
It's incredibly STUPID to even attempt to compare Sarah Palin to Dan Quayle. That particular piece of nonsense has been taken apart over and over and over gain on this site, and proven REPEATEDLY to be false, and without merit, yet like some demented fanatic, you keep dragging it up again anyways. The last thing you are interested in, is to face the reality of the FACTS and what the polls are telling you.
Since you work so hard to tear down the republican with the highest approval ratings, and our only conservative at the top, who did you sign up to promote here?
It’s delusional to believe that Palin doesn’t face a strong headwind. The fact of the matter is while she’s incredibly popular with the base, especially social conservatives, she does have a “Dan Quayle” problem with the general electorate.
And your evidence of this “Dan Quayle” problem is what exactly? Book sales, Oprah ratings, Facebook supporters? 50/50 approval among Independents?
Dan Quayle never got deafening applause walking on stage of The Tonight Show either.
