Over the weekend, the Daily News reported that Fox News host Geraldo Rivera has told Fox News founder and chairman Roger Ailes he'll quit if Ailes hires Lou Dobbs.
Rivera tells Rush & Molloy, "I never threatened to quit," adding, "The last time I checked, no one here was talking to the a-â." A rep for Ailes concurs, telling the paper he isn't looking to add Dobbs to either FNC or FBN.
And all this reminded us about a situation a few years ago just after Rivera signed a reported 6-year $36m contract with NBC. In August, 1998 Newsweek reported on a riff between Rivera and then NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw. Rivera complained in a TV Guide interview that promos for his CNBC show "Rivera Live" didn't air during "Nightly" because Brokaw banned them. He also seemed to be gunning for Brokaw's job, telling TV Guide he was, "in the running for the center chair at the desk of the wise men."
A day after the quotes leaked, Rivera issued this statement: "Tom Brokaw is a great newsman who does a terrific job and the rivalry between us is grossly overstated." He also explained that his ambition to be "the news anchor for the next millennium" did not extend beyond his role as a CNBC host.
Rivera left NBC after the 9/11 attacks going to work for Fox News as a war correspondent.
Where is the congressional investigation of outrageous reporter salaries!
Works for me... Geraldo and Red Eye are the only times my TV is off of Fox.
I’m so sick of his support of the Mack truck-sized holes in our borders. He sifts everything through his Hispanic offense filter and double dog dares anyone to knock that chip off his shoulder.
Ailes would do well to have Lou on his team. Tell Rivera adios...good riddance. Seeya! And of course, the proverbial, don’t let the door...libtard.
Also take off the giggling woman on his show who at one time on FOX seemed to be a decent serious reporter. I don’t understand why she went to his show but it wasn’t a good career move that’s for certain.
Buh-bye Whore-aldo. Will that mean Michelle malkin will be back? Yaaaaay!
Change your name to Jerry Rivers and get lost, make our day.

And I remember him drawing diagrams during a live segment, showing how American troops were deployed. He should have been shot right then and there.

Didn’t I read somewhere that Dobbs has not flipped on illegal immigration and is now for amnesty?
Is this true? Is so, the country doesn’t need to give him airtime.
Definitely! If Geraldo goes, we won't be turning off Fox News every time his face appears.
We would watch Lou Dobbs without question.
Lou would fit well on Fox.
Please hire Lou then.
Stink tanks and even the US Chamber of Commerce and the banks have been promoting this nonsense for decades so Geraldo has some powerful and influential supporters. The elites have been chipping away at our national sovereignty, eroding our borders, driving down wages while driving up competition for jobs and natural resources. Wonder if the government will ever report how many illegals defaulted on fraudulently acquired home loans? Hambama purports to be a supporter of the Black community, but he is certainly chummy with the SEIU thugs who are pushing for health care, amnesty and political ascendancy by displacing legal American workers.
Oh, PLEASE let Fox hire Lou Dobbs . . .
yes, ditto, please hire Lou. Geraldo makes me sick and they gush over him o Fox and Friends. Yuk!
I’m sure the switch would be a ratings plus for Fox...Whoralado would be more at home on PMSNBC..
he gives fox news a bad name.....he can’t leave fast enuff for me.
