tet68, as you and I are well aware, the advantage of asymetrical warfare directed at a supposedly “popularly elected” governement works wonders both here and abroad. Remember what two “screwball” mooslems snipers did to the DC area for 2 months. Imagine what a more disciplined group using better tactics and tools could accomplish? I personnally was surprised we did not see car bombing following 9/11.

As regards the Muslim snipers/9-11 the muslim
community has faced no public wrath what so ever,
if they had perhaps they would participate more
in solving the problem of their terrorist brethren.

Again justice delayed is justice denied and sometimes
as one learns in the military, group punishment for
individual guilt results in the guilty being punished.
Is it right? No. Does it work? Sometimes.
Certainly we as Americans are being punished by the
terrorist elements for crimes perceived to be committed
by our government. Why should we not recipricate?

The reluctance of the American public to engage in personal
rage is taken by the Islamic terror groups as a sign
of sheep like weakness. They, rather like our political
rulers will find out with a shock that once driven against
a wall our teeth are sharp indeed, and it will not be
as a mass but as the Individuals our divine providence
has graced with freedom and which our founding fathers
recognized as being the basis for our governing.

If I may stick my nose into your conversation....

I personally was surprised we did not see car bombing following 9/11

I, too, had much the same thought. No idea why, for instance, they didn't go after power substations and force all the NYC work to be done in the dark?

More to the point... How much damage could 20 well-motivated (motivated enough to kill themselves!) men do to a generally law-abiding society like the US? They were certainly clever enough to work within the confines of the US, and smart enough - at least some of them - to learn how to fly a modern airliner, navigate to a specific target, and hit the target.

I try not to think too hard about things like this, particularly in the light of current events. The next couple of months promises to be interesting, particularly if unemployment takes another jog upward, as what I've read is predicting.

Nothing worse for politicians than angry, armed citizens that are out of work, just had most of what they have left confiscated, and have nothing better to do.

Truly, history does repeat itself, but only if those in power choose to ignore it.
