U.S. Rep. Baron Hill says he's considering mounting a bid for Indiana governor in 2012, but first he'll run for another term in the House next year. Hill's comments came after weeks of rumors that he will retire from Congress next year to run for Indiana governor two years later. The Indiana Democrat's response to those rumors came just days after the National Republican Congressional Committee sent out an e-mail about the Indiana Democrat's so-called "retirement jitters." Hill tells The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., he doesn't know how the rumors that he will retire from the House got started. But he says he'll run next year for a sixth term in Congress. He also says he's "honestly thinking about" running for governor in 2012.
Maybe the rumors come from an embarrassing YouTube of him?
Looks like Sodrel is thinking about jumping back into the House race again. I like Mike, but I'm not sure if he is still a viable candidate given his lackluster performance and blowout loss last time.
Would like nothing more than to retire Baron permanently. We should have a shot in 2010 with the right candidate.
Well, he is my representative (very loosely speaking, of course), and there are a whole lot of us who are now working aggressively for his retirement by the ballot box.
Hill has never before faced the angry opposition he is facing now, and he really doesn’t know how to handle it.
He will not be elected to the governor’s office.
They just jump from one whorehouse to the next...
I don’t think Marion, Monroe and Lake counties will be enough to carry this waste of skin.
You’re right. He handles criticism very poorly, and will not be elected governor. In fact, I doubt that he will be re-elected to his seat.
Backing Travis Hankins from Columbus.
I’m ready for President Mitch in ‘12! I think it’s likely.
He’s going to be lucky if he is not tarred and feathered.
I like Mitch Daniels. I do wish, though that he had followed through with his opposition to Obama’s liberal agenda-—he had begun making some good statements that were even presidential in tone, but his office has been silent of late.
I write to Governor Daniel’s often. And everything I write to Hill, Bayh, and Lugar is copied to Mitch. Previously, the standard reply had been something like, “These are federal issues and you should write to Hill, Bayh, and Lugar.” Recently, though, I have gotten a couple of serious replies that indicate the Governor is really listening to the anger around the state.
How about Palin/Daniels 2012?
John:
I am also in District 9 and want to know how I can help defeat this Obama/Reid bootlicker. I despise this guy.
Have you seen his billboard along I-65 south of Seymour?
My understanding is that there may be a new Republican candidate but I have had difficulty finding out who he is or anything else about him.
If I die tomorrow I have vowed to come back to vote against Barron Hill in 2010.
Any contacts or other things that might point me in the right direction?
I really like Palin, and she's obviously qualified for the job. However, I think Palin has been too vilified and typecast by the MSM and the Hollywood elite and therefore unelectable by a large enough percentage of the populous. (They saw Palin as a genuine threat and did to her what they did to Quayle, Bork, etc.) It would take some miraculous epiphany of the electorate to vote fore her, as I see it.
I am serving in Asia, but am keeping two computers hot on Hill’s tracks, and communicating with a lot of people around the 9th.
I’m backing Travis Hankins from Columbus.
There’s an attorney named Young in Paoli that is running, and I think, really, that the Republican establishment in those counties are going to back him.
Hankins is young, but he has the Reagan mind set, experience with conservative organizations and the conservative bone fides. How seriously the party is treating him is yet to be seen.

Thanks. I will pursue this. Merry Christmas to you and Yours this holiday season.
You can help retire this Dem by donating to and supporting a good Conservative: Travis Hankins http://travishankins.com/

Prince Baron should be retired early.
There’s no word on who the Republicans will run here, apart from Hill’s decision.
For his House seat ? I thought Sodrel was going to challenge him again ?
Sodrel has been promoting a book. He’s made no decision one way or another.
