The problem is that doing something ineffective is just as bad as doing nothing, maybe worse. If you do something ineffective, people won’t be as willing to show up a second time.
Personally, I think you need to starve the beast over a long period of time. Barter and trade under the table sort of thing.
Yep, I intend to stand my ground here in Michigan. The politics may suck but its my home and I love it but its part of a greater nation. Michigan wouldn’t be Michigan without Texas or any other states.
Will not do. Not a matter of staying home, I will be away on business at a conference. If I am not there, I and my company lose.
Try something else.
Americans first or America first? Which America would that be? The free America that our forefathers fought and died for and the one to which freedom-loving people from all over the world risked their lives to come? Or the Socialist-Dictatorship-impostor-governmental version of America currently being formed?
Many Texans want nothing to do with that second America. Neither do I.
I agree. This is another feel-good-do-nothing ploy.
If only a tiny portion of the populace would listen to me and STOP PAYING TAXES that they are not obligated to pay, we could bring this monster to its knees within the month. :)
Exactly. What really needs to be done is an honest to goodness tax revolt, where we all withold tax payments to the fed. The big problem with that is that most folks have excess witholdings looking for a big refund. If we all were in the position of having to write a tax check every April 15 (or thereabouts), collectively we could put a real hurtin on the fed.
If we strike can I come to your house and play Xbox? I bring the booze.
Been “boycotting” like this since the layoff last Jan.
Can we change it back? I don’t like this change.
AMEN! Exactly.
I got PS3 and Wii. The boxing on while sauced sounds like a gas.
That’s exactly what’s being discussed at a blog on the site. I totally agree, the best thing to do is starve the beast, it’s counterproductive to conduct an economic boycott in my opinion.
But a few million taxpayers changing their w-4’s for a day or a pay period.....might make the beast take notice....
I'm very good at doing the Step Arobics with a cocktail in my hand. You bring the booze, I'll teach ya, LOL!
bump for reading after my own trip to my county court house.

The only thing that will work is when the baby boomers or some other BIG group retire all at once. The fact that much smaller income is coming to the govt but the outflow is a lot bigger will eventually get their attention! Then we can make our voice heard. Will it come in time????????
got a better idea?
the people have got to get off their ass and get out on the street!!
why did DC give women the right to vote?
why did DC give blacks the right to vote?
because the wished for it.....hardly....because they forced the media to take note.....imagine the water cannons trained on a 100,000 conservatives.....next week a million......
The states ratified the Constitution as an agreement with the federal government. The Constitution is a contract between the states and the federal government. The federal government has broken that agreement and that contract and no longer abides by the terms of the Constitution. Therefore, the states are free from their ties to this rouge government. "Togetherness" doesn't include Marxism and tyranny.
It didn’t work out so hot last time. Loosen the tin foil.
You're correct -- strikes work for leftists because they work for the government - teachers, bus drivers, police, etc. and when they strike it causes headaches for everybody else. But conservatives tend to work for themselves, or in free enterprise businesses. Not working for a day is just hurting yourself.
A better idea is for everyone to talk to at least five people on January 20th and explain to them why our latest administration and the health care bill are a disaster. That takes bravery in some cases, particularly if you work around people who are liberals, but we need to overcome fear to fight for our nation.
Cutting tax payments to the government won't have much of an effect - their economic policies have already cut their revenues tremendously and they sure haven't stopped spending. Instead they are spending more.
The thing is that we need to read their playbook and play by their rules. Overwhelm their system, ridcule, stuff like that.
Gonna have to give that some thought.
