On orders from President Barack Obama, the U.S. military launched cruise missiles early Thursday against two suspected al-Qaeda sites in Yemen, administration officials told ABC News in a report broadcast on ABC World News with Charles Gibson. Share ABC's Brian Ross details missile strike on al-Qaeda militants in Afghanistan.
One of the targeted sites was a suspected al Qaeda training camp north of the capitol, Sanaa, and the second target was a location where officials said "an imminent attack against a U.S. asset was being planned."
The Yemen attacks by the U.S. military represent a major escalation of the Obama administration's campaign against al Qaeda.

So was this a distraction ala Lewinsky impeachment or do we have ourselves a new war president? Hmmm
That should get his abject failure at Copenhagen off the news for a while.
Bayer has manufacturing now in Yemen?
Did Congress vote to authorize US military operations against Yemen?
I noted that they missed their target. At what cost.
The media has been pretty quiet about this. Obviously there’s some reporting but not much.
If it were Bush, they would act like he had nuked London.
Making a (further) mockery of the Nobel Peace Prize. But the Swedes will love him anyway.
Oh yeah.. TOUGH MAN Obama. Now if he’d just acknowledge that we have a Constitution and stop shoving Nationalized Health Care that WE THE MAJORITY are AGAINST down our throats. Obama, you (censored) POS.
Yemeni terrorists invaded Saudi Arabia a while ago. Is Obama doing this to help out the Saudi King?
So despite all his rhetoric, despite buying into the media trick that’s plagued the strategic thinking of most American since the WW III (a.k.a. the Cold War) when the media, the left, and even the less-clear-thinking among pro-American strategists bought into the idea that campaigns in different parts of the world were different wars, Obama is in his own, vague, halting way actually prosecuting the general war against Qutbite Islam and responding to Al Qaeda having opened a new front in Yemen.
Another positive mark to keep my estimate of his job performance at D- instead of F.
Wag the dog.
does he get to keep the Nobel PEACE prize, that he was nominated for after a whole ELEVEN days on the job???
Wag the Dog?
:-)
the Dog wagging POS is just like slick william and Jimmah.
and does not America see this??
Oops! You beat me to it! LOL
The Yemeni were rumored to have been setting up a “Rush Room” prior to the attack- as well as ordering loudly colored ties over the internet.
If only presidents past had respected the constitution and not authorized any attacks without congressional approval, there would be no precedent for this.
Fortunately, as everything else Obama does is “unprecedented”

now this attack on Yemen is also an unprecedented abuse of power by a Nobel Peace Prize recipient.
Why not order firing of missiles at your Muslim brother after making sure they’ve been warned ahead of time to get out?
It’s not much of a distraction if nobody noticed. Are they talking about it on the news programs? I don’t recall much being said about it.
This is one of the very few times I agree with Obama. Kill the suckers.
