Of course Obamacare is unconstitutional but although a majority of the American people don't want it, the 'general public' seems too apathetic to really fight this and it's obvious that conservatives alone simply can't defeat it. The relative hand-full of conservative Republicans in the House of Representatives and the Senate are no match for the Democrat majority that play political hardball with their members and shut Republicans out of any substantive debate on this terrible legislation.

Obamacare is clearly intended to cement governmental control over once-free Americans lives at a terrible financial cost that will bankrupt the country, which is the likely intent, truth be known. We can only hope and pray that it will be overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, but I wouldn't bet the farm on that happening, especially if Obama gets to appoint one or more new Justices, who will be solid leftists, no doubt.

Tragically, years of government-run schools, depriving students of any real knowledge of America's greatness, material accomplishments and defeat of various global tyrannies have harvested a nation of apolitical citizens, who pay little attention to Washington politics and assume that nothing politicians do will change their lives in any meaningful way. The young Americans who attend universities are relentlessly brainwashed and intimidated into accepting and, eventually, inculcating socialist, anti-American beliefs pounded into them by leftist professors and textbooks slanted against American exceptionalism.

The media is mostly controlled by leftists that routinely lie or just ignore anything that doesn't fit the leftist agenda. Examples are plentiful, including the absence of news coverage about 'ClimateGate', the relentless trashing of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and the truth about Obamacare. Sure, Fox News and conservative talk radio as well as conservative websites like FR do a good job in getting the truth out but they can't compare to the influence the so-called 'mainstream media' have on public opinion. I wish it were otherwise.

We all know that Hollywood is a sea of cookie-cutter leftists. Multi-millionaire actors and other show-biz folk who live like kings while endorsing policies that would destroy other Americans ability to seek and obtain even a fraction of what the Hollywood 'elite' - a contradiction in terms, I admit - have in abundance. They are staunchly pro abortion and love their drugs but spew vicious attacks against conservatives such as Sarah Palin, just because she's a traditional wife and mother who worked hard, rose to the governorship of Alaska and holds conservative i.e. moral values.

So, a generally apathetic American public will sit back and grumble (some will cheer) while the Democrat thugs in congress and the White House ram supposed health care 'reform' down our collective throats. The bill will be instantly challenged in the courts and many Americans will be outraged at this crass exercise of political power but the law will still be on the books and we're stuck with Comrade Obama for 3 more years.

Frankly, while I once held out some hope that this bill would ultimately fail, I now cede that it will very likely pass. After all, Obama's ego depends on it.

I also believe that Democrats will lose control of congress in the 2010 elections, even with the massive voter fraud now being planned by the Obama administration, with the able assistance of SEIU, ACORN, the New Black Panthers and other leftist criminals. I believe that a majority of Americans will be angry enough to get off their duffs and vote against Democrats in the 2010 election.

Unless the GOP rids itself of the neo-cons and so-called 'moderates' exemplified by Senator John McCain and his 'my good friend' attitude toward the Democrats that would gladly turn America into a banana republic and destroy people like McCain, who whines about the lack of 'comity' in the senate, like some disappointed child that just discovered Santa Claus isn't real, a Republican majority in congress won't change very much. To put it another way: we'll still be screwed.

Frankly, I don't see conservatives overthrowing the current GOP establishment anytime soon. When political writers claim that Mitt Romney is the 'compromise' choice for Republicans, we're likely doomed. Yes, leftist political pundits always try to prop up weak RINOs that they know can't beat a Democrat but I simply don't see a strong, conservative Republican leader coming forward now, when they're needed most. I'm a big fan of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin but I'm beginning to think she may not really be interested in being the 2012 Republican candidate for president. Our loss. Representative Michele Bachmann is also a shining star in the Republican party but I don't see her being the conservative leader we need, today. I like Michael Steele but let's face it, he isn't a real force on the national scene. Few Americans even know who Steel is, much less what the GOP supposedly represents. That shouldn't be, but sadly, it is.

Unless the Republican party can divest itself of 'go-along-get-along' leaders, even a GOP 'takeover' of congress in the 2010 elections won't change our destructive political course. We'll all go-along-to-get-along into a socialist nightmare and the America we know and love will be no more. Should that sad day arrive - and it's definitely close at hand - people will rightly ask "How did this happen?" The answer will be: "you let it happen". You voted for a slogan and a smile, ignored what was happening in Washington, D.C. then sat back and waited for your 'free health care' to kick in. Instead, you got socialism, good and hard. Too late now. America is over. Let me see your papers, Comrade.

Of course, much could happen in the next year and I could be wrong about all of this. I hope I am, I really do.

You underestimate the thugs. There are several possibilities, and combinations thereof. There might not BE any 2010 elections. There might be totally fraudulent elections. There might be elections insufficiently fraudulent, which would then be declared fraudulent.

I don't know if those things will happen, but the Chicago Thugs will try if they get desperate enough, which seems highly likely.

They are going to pass something and by 2020 the American people will be begging for a solution to the cluster-eff they’ve created. You know, something like Canada and France have now.

It’s all part of the plan — mess up the system so bad that people will be willing to go along.

I enjoyed your thoughtful posting. One ray of hope that I see is that most politicians seek cover. If enough conservatives win mid-term elections, RHINO’s and Blue Dogs will shift right, IMO.

Right now, with ultra-leftists and progressives dominating the House, pols have moved further left, in the real or imagined need to do so to stay in the game.

I include McCain in this group.

Or maybe I’m just optimistic this evening!
