There’s nothing in the Constitution that says they have to represent you. They just have to face the ballot box. And anyway, under the Constitution, Senators are supposed to represent their state, not the people directly.

As per senators, that’s how it used to be until we changed how they were installed into said seats. They originally were to represent “the state’s” interests as they were appointed by each state’s legislatures, but now that they are directly elected by the people, not the state legislatures, just like the representatives are, that just isn’t true anymore.
