From someone who knows her, she is very, very two faced. She has the Dallas society attitude going on, which, for those who know, is an elitist, pat the plebes on the head and make them carry your bags attitude. She treats her interns like crap.

Red State commenters have confirmed Kay’s vote did not matter-—

That being said-—

This is what did matter to a Red State commenter-—

“””I’m sorry, that misses the larger point entirely.

The bottom line is that KBH demonstrated that she was willing to undercut the caucus, treat the abrogation of 200+ years of Senate rules and traditions like it was a broken date at the local DQ, and aid and abet the enemy.

*This* is exactly what has been wrong with far too much of the GOP caucus for the last however many years, and for you to treat it like it was no big deal because they had the 60 votes they needed is the typical enabling attitude of those who don’t understand the larger message this sends.”””

"So Kay Bailey Hutchison broke her word to the Senate GOP and voted with the Democrats, thereby ending any hope of obstructing Harry Reid’s intended vote on health care. Once Kay Bailey Hutchison jumped ship, Snowe and Collins followed."

RINOs aren't worth the powder it'd take to blow them to hell!!

VOTE THEM OUT!!

NO MORE RINOs!!

They'll screw you in the end every time!!

Whether her vote counted or not is irrelevant.

She and Collins and Snowe sold us out.

I cannot vote against her in Texas I can only urge Texans to vote against her, and I do.

No state needs a two-faced woman in the Governor’s Mansion.

I didn’t have an opinion about her one way or the other until the Ft. Hood attack. As the Senator from Texas she was interviewed several times after it happened and she refused to call it terrorism. She didn’t want to rush to judgment. That told me all I need to know about Kay Bailey Hutchinson. I hope she loses. I have good friends in Texas and have been down there several times. It’s an awesome state and Texans deserve better.

Is Gardasil Governor Rick Perry any better?

He is a Texas RINO which is to the right of DC RINOs. He is good on taxes, he tried to move the guard to the border (operation linebacker that was blocked by the feds), but he does have issues (a lot of people weren't happy about the TTC or, as you pointed out, the Gardasil thing (was told he took bad advice from some doctors, but he did reverse course on that..))

Called her DC Office and couldn’t get through. Called Dallas office and they said she voted because Dems already had 60 votes and to show support for the Military. What a dumba$$. And she wants to be Gov., give me a break.

This is just more proof that the Republicans don’t know what the hell they are doing. Allowing the Jeffords amendment to be pulled from consideration in direct contradiction of Senate rules was the first clue. Not being able to keep Hutchison from torpedoing their tactic is further proof. If these are the guys who are going to save us from the health care bill we’re in a hell of a lot of trouble. In fact, we have a better chance of the Democrats wrecking the bill.

That seems to be what WaPo is reporting.

KBH probably had some earmarks in there.

The cloture vote was:

63... Aye
33... Nay
4.... Not Voting

Three [Hucthison, Collins, Snowe] voted for cloture but their votes didn’t decide the issue. The dems had the votes to force cloture.

It doesn’t matter whether the Dems had 60 votes or not. What matters is that these 3 women caved on the solid front that should have been the Republican Party Senators.

This is politics as usual. And in the minds of these elite “representatives,” just issues and game moves we little people can’t understand.

I’m tired, I’m saddened, I’m just fed up.
