In the old days in Europe, a Danish policeman who dared assault an English nobleman would have been hanged, drawn and quartered, and his head put on a pike outside the British embassy as a warning to European cops. O HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN!

And a few centuries before that they Dane would have been toasted for disciplining a rowdy savage from a pathetic land (at the time)...all of which goes to show that what goes up must come down. Empires and powerhouses are no exceptions.
