Nothing new, except interesting for being posted on HuffPo and by an Obama supporter.

>> Dinan: “I would love to see more thoughtful reflections on positions and values, a deeper understanding of history, and less of the combative edge, all of which would make her a more unifying leader”

Yeah, because the toad that you chose to vote for possesses such qualities - NOT.

Can anyone give me one example of something Obama has done that’s a positive reflection on America’s vibrant history?

He has to get this in, of course:..she launches...into a diatribe about what our country needs, which is strongly colored with right-wing platitudes and a self-righteous air as well as the tendency to portray liberals as the enemy rather than fellow allies in evolving our country...

uh, liberals are the enemy.

“All that said, I still bristled when she launches in the final part of the book into a diatribe about what our country needs, which is strongly colored with right-wing platitudes and a self-righteous air as well as the tendency to portray liberals as the enemy rather than fellow allies in evolving our country.”

Fellow allies? Kum-by-ya moment for a defeated libtard?

"What I know from years of psychological and spiritual explorations is that whenever we judge or fight something in the world, there is an aspect of ourselves that we are battling against." --> He's battling against the fact that so much of what he stands for is wrong and those things were brought to clear light by Palin and the life she leads. That's why it made him uncomfortable.

I’ve seen quite a few posts similar to this on what are usually loony left sites. I really believe that, as many average traditional type democrats start realizing that 0bama really is just media hype and about as substantive as a puff of smoke, they may be willing to give Sarah Palin a thoughtful look. Actually, over the last few months I’ve run across several really interesting columns at the HuffPo, naturally, the comments left excoriate the writer, and spout the usual hate-filled garbage that is commonly associated with the far left.

But, there is hope, as more and more cracks start appearing in the left. By 2012, there will be thousands of such cracks, and the left will crumble like a loaf of stale bread.

Two comments;

1) Stephen Dinan is a reporter for the Washington Times. Stephen H. Dinan is a hard core lefty. (Yes, two different people) That, in of itself, is strange.

You really should read the comments on the original site.

I can better respect both her sincere patriotic intent as well as her willingness to take on hard fights in the service of democracy, in addition to her championing of the everyday people who often feel marginalized in our political process.<<<

Typical Liberal!...lol....Cant quite pull the trigger!

as he goes on to state....”I still would not vote for her for President,” (even if she was running against Stalin himself, no doubt!)

The liberal mind is truly beyond my comprehension.......

I agree with one of your points—though I would word it differently.

“I really believe that, as many average traditional type democrats start realizing that 0bama really is just media hype and about as substantive as...”

I was at my local Barnes and Noble the other day and there was some hippie indie song playing with lyrics that said “your life doesn’t change by the man that’s elected.”

I agree, that a lot of people (and not just average traditional types mind you) are starting to realize Obama is no Jesus Christ. He is not the Messiah they hoped for. He has not CHANGED their lives—which stems from spiritual emptiness and confusion, not mere dissatisfaction with political or even economic circumstances.

A lot of people were attracted to Obama because they could relate to his confused moral worldview and nuanced positions on issues that we all, by conscience know to require either a black or white answer—but we fear the truth when it makes us feel uncomfortable. ONE example, either the unborn baby is a life or he isn’t...there is no in between. But the liberals WANT there to be an “in between.” They want to keep hiding from the fact that some issues ARE a matter of LIFE and DEATH, RIGHT and WRONG.

This kind of mentality makes only weak leaders without resolve, without any real vision, and without direction.

Anyhow, the moral clarity Palin projected was and remains intimidating to many.

(EIther way, no matter how “great” the leader—nobody can take the place of Jesus Christ as the one and ONLY Savior, ONLY Truth, ONLY Hope, and ONLY eternal life-CHANGEr of man.)

Good read....

The question begs are some Lib's and loons stepping away from the Bong long enough to become Scoop Jackson, Zel Miller, or even Pat Caddell Democrats?

I can only hope, they have been unreachable and you can't negotiate or battle in the arena of ideas with these loons. Maybe this is a move towards sannity.

Just couldn’t help but compare himself to Sarah. Bah!!!

And that paragraph about Sarah’s ideals being partisan!

What a crock.

In the end he just couldn’t be honest, he had to revert back to his own fear of this wonderful woman being so much more than he or his party could ever hope to be.

"I would love to see more thoughtful reflections on positions and values, a deeper understanding of history,..."

Whoa!

Though I use every opportunity imaginable to encourage people to study history to discover the truth about a subject, this statement floored me, coming from a Leftist.

More people studying history would only expose how Authoritarianism has destroyed societies, and serve to drive Socialists out of politics permanently, which would be a beautiful thing for us Liberty advocates and the world, in general.
