In what has to be the toughest choice since deciding what his position is on Obamas stimulus plan this week, Charlie Crist is expected to announce Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer will resign this month to focus on his family. No word on the exact date of the announcement, but likely in the days around Christmas when no one is paying attention to the news.
Greer recently survived a confidence vote by the RPOF leadership, however, according to Hillsborough County State Committeeman A.J. Matthews the board was hoodwinked into the lopsided vote of support for Greer and this was done by National Committeeman Paul Senft. Matthews made his remarks publicly at the Hillsborough RECs monthly meeting last night.
Matthews further suggested more action may be forthcoming at the quarterly meeting in January. Other party chairs and state committeemembers have also told me they expect action in January. But now that likely will not be necessary.
It seems Marco Rubio has done what no state committeeman or county chair in Florida has been able to do. That is, get the message to Chuckles that Greer is a HUGE drain on his campaign. Rubio is now statistically tied with Crist in an independent poll published yesterday. And with his eyes on the U.S. Senate race and beyond, the tan-man cant afford to have a ball-and-chain like Greer (who is almost universally disliked in GOP circles) around when Chuckie is dropping faster than a lead balloon in the polls.
And as we all know, Charlie has never been accused of looking out for anything but Charlie. This certainly proves it. Exit Greer.
Several sources have confirmed with me that Crist has already asked Allan Bense to be Greers interim successor. No word on if Bense has accepted the position. Depends on if he wants a ticket on the Titanic that is the Crist campaign reshuffled deck chairs or not, the S.S. Charlie is still a sinking ship.
Stay tuned

I hope FL shows the USA how to dump RINOs.
At this point, Charlie would lose either one as this campaign is a referendum on Charlie and his RINO policies.
I live in Florda & am voting for Rubio. Already gave money to his campaign. Can’t wait to get rid of Crist.
I Know Alan Bense and I believe he is smarter than to sign on for Crist...at least I surely hope so. If he does sign on, I will be calling him.
I am proud to say, I didn't even vote for TAN-BOY for Governor !!
When Bush showed up in Tally for Tan-Boy’s rally and Tan-Boy ran to Palm Beach ....that did it for me !!
Poor Tan-Boy miscalculated when Ubama came to town !! Just goes to prove, holding your finger to the wind doesn't always work out !!
Have the Bushes endorsed Crist? That might sink Crist.
Jeb Bush is still very popular in the state and everyone is waiting for him to endorse Rubio “at the right time” which would really sink Tan-Boy !!
Poor Tan-Boy, he really thought he was going to D.C. as McCain's VP !! When Palin got the nod, he figured he was a shoe in for the Senate !! After the Senate, the run for the WH !!
Tan-Boy is lucky FL never had a hurricane during his tenure as Gov ....or else he would have been exposed as the incompetent idiot he really is !! Tan-Boy is a climber, he is smart enough politically to move on before he is found out !!
