Let's hope Christie picked the right person for the job.  So far, I and I'm sure many other republicans are not impressed with his choice.  There are plenty of republican lawyers in New Jersey who can be attorney general.  Many republican lawyers gave to the campaign and worked for Christie and I'm sure Paula Dow will be replaced by another liberal democrat for the Essex County post she used to hold.

Believe it or not, the democrat attorney general, in there now, appointed by Corzine,  ordered the police to report to ICE any Illegal Immigrant arrested for an indictable offence or drunk driving see here and here.  Let's hope the Christie administration does the same, see here and here for his views on illegal immigration.

“Those familiar with the decision-making process also say the nomination of Dow, a registered Democrat, is meant to send the clear signal that Christie, a Republican, cares little for partisan labels, but rather gravitates toward effectiveness.”

Ah, yes, the dreaded ‘effectiveness’. A word never used when the appointee is conservative, but a word always used when a new administration needs to try to cloud over their RINO tendencies.

Most governors consider the Attorney General slot to be an important position. I can’t imagine any Democrat governor appointing a Republican to the post.

Democrats consider the law to be something that belongs to them personally, not a matter of simple justice.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think Christie is trying to de-politicize the office of State Attorney General. Plus he knows Dow from way back. When he was elected Governor in 1994, George W Bush befriended then Texas Democratic Lt. Governor Bob Bullock, they were huge friends and together accomplished many positive things when they ran Austin. Hopefully this is what Christie is trying to duplicate, hopefully.

Chris Christie chooses Paula Dow as attorney general (pro-abortion, liberal Democrat)

Was Lonegan correct when he said Christie wasn't truly pro-life?

I think his Lt Gov is also pro-abortion. Maybe abortion is not an issue after elections.
