That base cannot be closed!! It is the absolute hub of our strategic command and control system. It has billions and billions of one-of-a-kind systems that have been installed there over the decades since it was SAC Headquarters.

Even though I might get flamed for this. Probably most of those systems are obsolete, Most of what is there is command and intelligence which is duplicated in other places, maybe not many times over but it's more then just one place. Tell me what is obsoletely necessary at that base that can't be moved to another base.

It’s the physical location that is important. I highly doubt that we are depending on “obsolete systems” at Offutt. If so, we’re in deeper doo-doo than I thought.

We’ll just say decades and decades of very deep and incredible facilities and leave it at that. I can’t say more, but believe me it is amazing. It is much more valuable than the Pentagon or White House.

Offutt AFB is where Bush went on 9/11. There is a reason for that! He and the military can do anything from there to defend the country.

This is no ordinary facility that decays over time. This facility is constantly being upgraded because it is maintained to control the entire military and government system from this one location. It is not even remotely outdated!!!

Your general statement might be true about a majority of locations, but not Offutt. The idiot who made the threat to close Offutt AFB doesn’t have the slightest clue about the command and control of our country during time of crisis.
