Listen to this stupervisor explain why he approved his colleague's $700,000 office makeover (courtesy of the tax payers)
The $700,000 office makeover for L.A. County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas was approved. Why?

UNBELIEVABLE
a/k/a/ “Curley”
holy cow these guys should be bitch-slapped
Come on man, aren’t all of your offices remolded to the tune of $700,000.00?
Give this hard working govt type a break.
Seriously, take him out and break his legs.
These guys need to be strung up..
“Seriously, take him out and break his legs.”
This guy is a do nothing, long time political hack.
Break his arms too.
I wish it was easy to fire these pols, but the pol replacements are just as bad, or worse.
This clown pulled the same crap when he first became a city councilman. He was in office barely a year when city financial problems, (when doesn’t LA have money problems) there were calls for the council members to give up there city paid for vehicles. He comes out and claims he will not give up his lincoln continental because he deserves everthing he worked for. He thinks he’s Don Cornealis.
Easily explained, it's other people's money.
According to documents provided to the board, the budget DOES NOT INCLUDE the cost of new furniture, which will be paid for with discretionary funds available to the Second District.
Rosenfeld and Ridley-Thomas aide Aurelio Rojas acknowledged that the timing during a recession wasnt ideal.
Rosenfeld stressed that the $700,000 is a budget and not a contract for work.
Our job is to do it for less, he said.

How? For what?
I set up a whole office with 16 desks, chairs, conference table, reception ...the works for less than $50k.
Shameless!
Gee 700 G could almost build a new building
All four of them deserve Bastinado for approving this wanton spending. It is vain. And to hear that fellow talk, it is as if he feels no responsibility for approving it.
Bastinado would cure that.
