For better or worse kids need female and male role models to both identify with and distinguish themselves from. In order to PREVENT CONFUSION and live better lives.
ANd for those who say that you can have a crappy mom or dad I counter with:
- you can also have two crappy lesbian or gay parents.
- you can also learn how NOT to be from poor male or female role models. My dad had a father who was a mean drunk. He said “That’s not how I’m going to live and treat my family” and he didn’t. You can still learn what NOT to do from a faulty role model and overcome it, people have been doing that since forever.
