I just don’t get it, who cares if they are in Cuba or Bulgaria? These people are idiots! Leave them where they are for God’s sake, just one more way to cost the taxpayer’s more money.

The Gitmo boys aren’t gonna like trading their Caribbean resort for the prisons of Bulgaria. Dummies should have kept their traps shut.

I have a feeling Bulgaria was one of those countries the Dems were snorting about being in the Coalition way back when, as in "Oh,WOW, Bulgaria is on board!" sarcastically.

Is this an example of Obama's mending fences? How about getting France or Russia or some Muslim country to takem O Great Fence-Mender?

You are right.

When the wind is from the capital the smell of flop-sweat is overwhelming.

I wonder if they are having a big love fest at DU now that the arab terroists are going to be held in Bulgaria and delivered by Obama. It solves all their problems with the Bush administration.

I thought the libs had a big problem with rendition. Now it seems to be just fine.

On what legal ground would Bulgaria keep a man like the Gitmo residents imprisoned? The Bulgarian Constitution has similar guarantees of the rights of the accused as most other modern nations. Its institutions are constantly being scrutinized by the Euros, so going around the law is not really an option. The US can at least claim that its Armed Forces captured them on the battlefield. Whether they have standing in an American criminal court may be a gray area, but once on Bulgarian soil, they will get their day in a Bulgarian court and the Bulgarian prosecutor will have no proof of their guilt.

I really think some of the terrorists will walk free. Unbelievable incompetence!
