I think the bigger issue is the fact that the President is having any parties to begin with. His job is supposedly to protect and defend the Constitution, not hosting social events. Our tax dollars shouldn’t be wasted on stuff like this. No matter what religion or group is involved.

So people understand where I'm coming from, I admit I don't thing The One is a Muslim or an antisemite. But this is just stupid.

Christmas is a national holiday, it's natural the White House and the Capital would have displays. Public displays for other faiths are nice too. But it seems to me religious celebrations in the White House should be relevant to the faith of the occupant. Many Christians recognize the miracles of Chanukah, the oil and the important victory over the Seleucids, who would have destroyed the Jewish faith. GWB started this "tradition", I've no knowledge of his religious position on Chanukah, but I wouldn't for a minute question his desire to celebrate the miracles. It's proper in that sense.

BHO, color me skeptical. When religious celebrations devolve into who's inviting who, the dem invited fewer than the rep, the significance is diminished. I'd prefer he not have a celebration at all.
