In 1982, Marin was cut off from the rest of the bay due to
flooding and mud slides, and during the ensuing three-four
days of isolation, the food stores were literally gutted
by frantic Marinite social queens. I watched women in furs
trading blows to get the last of the toilet paper. One of
the reasons we bailed out in ‘95.
One of the things that makes me glad I live in SW Washington, is that we have Oregon between us and California.
Of course we still have Seattle on our side of the river...
