It must be worth the hassle because literally thousands of Kansas residents tag their vehicles in texas to avoid the outrageously high cost of tagging in Kansas. I swear, about 1 out of every 5 vehicles in Kansas have a texas tag on them. Drive up and down any street and they’re parked in the garages, they have local dealership names on the back of the vehicle. Rarely do I see a military sticker on the windshield to indicate they are military personnel.

Just for perspective, let me tell you what it cost me to tag my vehicles each year in Kansas. I have a '99 Dodge Ram P.U. and a 2006 Saturn Vue. With registration fees and personal property tax, it cost over $350 dollars. I might go down a few dollars each year with the age of the vehicle, but the state always seems to bump up registration fees. This is why Kansans use relatives addresses or a 2-week timeshare they may have in another state as their address for tagging. The most popular states seem to be Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Illinois and Wisconsin.
