Forget the e-mails......there have been very few sunspots this year....
and the sun's magnetic field is declining...(needs 50 gauss for sunspot formation)...

I for one have known this for some fifteen years plus. My elder very well informed quantum mechanist, petroleum chemist, biochem and physical chem and nuclear magnetic spectroscopist chemist brother and I have had lets say talks over dinners as well well as others in engineering, physics, and chemistry, at Bell Labs long before it was any form of an issue.
It is all pardon my French. Horse shit, not backed by any solid science, as hopefully growing numbers of people are discovering.
