I agree on your point about religion as well...being a Mormon is a minus in the Republican Party at this point...do you think Cantor being Jewish is a negative? I think he is the only Jewish Republican at the national level...magritte

Yes not only will the Dems fight hard for Obama, but they would be motivated 10x more if Palin were the opponent because losing to her would be the shame of the century in their eyes. Part of the media’s brutal war on Palin had/has more to do with the fact they feel protective of Obama. I believe if some boring John Kerry type liberal were running, people wouldn’t have been AS vicious and inhumane towards Palin.

Not only that, but Obama himself is counting on his second term in order to fully unleash the agenda he really wants to, which includes doing things like repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” for starters. When I tell people not to underestimate Palin—I mean more in terms of her intelligence, her depth, and her capacity to be a great leader.

If there’s one person I have NOT underestimated since *2004* it’s Barack Obama. I remember all the debates I had with people who were saying things like “hillary has it in the bag” and “nobody can beat the Clinton machine” or nonsense like “people won’t vote for a black candidate.”

Obama knows how to win and manipulate—and it doesn’t hurt that he has the media as his campaign team and a bunch of billionaires supporting him. And even if Obama disappoints the electorate these next few years, liberals will definitely step up their game to make sure Palin won’t be the replacement.

I guess you can say I underestimate the American people’s capacity to do the right thing. I hope I’m wrong!

Ultimately it’s God’s decision who wins and loses elections. :) Nothing exists outside His control and I take great comfort in that.

As for your question regarding Eric Cantor’s Judaism—well it definitely has nowhere near the stigma that Mormonism does. And some American “Evangelicals” are obsessed with militaristically defending Israel—even to Unbiblical proporitions. I personally would have more respect for a Jew who actually BELIEVES the Old Testament over a cultural Jew like 99% of the ones I know.

I so far am not a fan of Cantor. I don’t like the vibes I get from him. He’s too Romney-like. I also am turned off by the fact that 1) neither of them have ever served in the military or have children who have and 2) their wealth. Bobby Jindal may not be a veteran, but you can tell he has a true heart for America and an understanding of the meaning of “sacrifice” because of his family’s humble background and story. Romney and Cantor...just seem like your average CEO and lawyer.
