Eric Cantor (R) dodges question on Palin's qualification (He's scared of Palin)
Yes, it’s funny watching people take a solid conservative with a 96% rating and call him a RINO. Oddly, that often happens when he serves in his capacity of Republican Cheerleader, which is the quintissential job of a person who is Republican through and through, not “in name only”.
Seems defending the Republican Party makes some people think you are a RINO.
If I thought as poorly about Palin as you do, and believed she would keep an “enemies list”, I would never support her.
But of course, I think much more highly of her than that, and feel disgust that her supporter would trash her through the implication. But a lot of her supporters spend a lot of time denigrating her by putting ideas and thoughts out that she would never consider herself.
So were a lot of other conservatives. Did you have a point? We were all in the country when Obama was elected President — does that reflect badly on us?
I beginning to understand. There’s a blog that suggested Eric Cantor might consider running for President.
So of course the Palin supporters have to trash him early and often.
BTW, I have no real interest in Cantor as President, I just am tired of all the attacks being launched on this site at everybody whose initials aren’t SP.
Could you post a summary of what he said? I can’t access YouTube. Thanks.
Another gutless wonder. Cross him off my list.
You attribute an opinion to others that is in itself your own.
Even if these men believe this it is irrelevant and would cause them to be very much embarrassed should Palin run in 2012.
Remember Cantor was in the group of McCain, Romney, and Jeb Bush who earlier this year had to give away free pizza to get 100 people to show up at their first “listening tour” stop. Whatever happened to that “tour” anyway? I guess they didn’t like what they heard, so they stopped listening. Cantor is just another pathetic inside the beltway weasel.
Please, in the future, warn us that we’re about to see Geraldo if we click the link!
Taking on a sitting president you need passion in your voters, you need them out there giving money, giving time and effort. Palin brings that passion. All other GOP front runners do not. without that passion the GOP loses a close election. And even if they win the new president will not have any type of mandate.
Well, excuse me. Don't you think it is prudent to wait a bit to jump on bandwagons? There is a long way to go and I prefer to see my alternatives before I commit.
A few days ago there was a thread running that alleged that unless someone would commit to Palin they should be purged from the Republican party.
This kind of hero worship is akin to teen age girls at a rock concert.
I may end up supporting Palin but if I do, it will be in spite of these rabid supporters, not because of them.
When humans put someone on a pedestal, it is mighty easy for that person to topple.
Go slow.
Still up on Cantor’s website ...

Gingrich Joins Cantors Effort To Remake GOP
I agree with you 100%. Heard the ex-Senator Al Damato on Fox over the weekend give the ol' back handed compliment and then "she's not qualified" line. Asked who he thought might be qualified in 2012 --- he names 3 men. I'm starting to think all these Big Tent Republicans only want men in their Big Tent. Someone needs to knock that stupid tent down and build a solid structure with conservatism as the foundation. And Sarah is just the 'man' to do it. The old men are afraid of Sarah.
He needs an alter-ego as badly as Tiger Woods. You know, someone to grab him (hard) by the shoulders and scream:
WAKE THE BLEEP UP, YOU DUMBA$$!!!
What are Canter's lifetime Insider Toady ratings?
Cantor totally joined Rivera in dissing Palin.
Question: The Haley Barbour question, is she qualified to be president, yes or no?
Cantors answer: Haley Barbour is um, he, he is an expert, that guy is one of the smartest people that I know, and he is a real leader.
Questioner: And he [you] didnt answer the question (laughing).
Cantors answer: Smiling (in affirmative), silence.
Questioners conclusion: Like I said to our friend Mike Huckabee last night, I think that Sarah Palin scares main stream republicans like Eric Cantor and Haley Barbour as much as she scares the democrats.
Cantor showed himself to be the enemy of conservatives, see post 78, he declared war on the base.
Don't know if you remember, but at one time in this forum there was a very loud group that thought the same thing about Rudy Guiliani. He was the ONLY one that could beat (fill in the blank) .
There are 3 full years before the next presidential election and that amount of time is an eternity in politics.
