Eric Cantor (R) dodges question on Palin's qualification (He's scared of Palin)
That is what I heard and I was watching Whorealdo on Tivo. Backed it up twice to understand what happened and it was a dodge.
Whatever the hell Whorealdo and brother were reporting on, afterwards, made me change the channel.
Too bad nothing interesting is on. Turned it off.
Your screen name prompted an intriguing thought: Sarah Palin/Condoleeza Rice?
Cantor misread the question. If she is older than 35, native born and a resident for 14 years, then she is qualified. Having executive experience and being a former VP candidate makes her uniquely qualified.
you may be in touch with history and the the republican machine—but i feel that you, barbour, and cantor are out of touch with the sentiments of this country and underestimate Palin’s ability to win without the establishment’s help. she broke the GOP machine cycle on tiny-baby scale in Alaska. she is capable of doing it on a bigger stage.
As I said previously, I’m commenting on the politics...Palin may very well win the Republican nomination...because Obama will have little Democrat opposition in 2012, there will be a lot of primary crossover...the question will be, will crossover DEMs vote for Palin because they think she’s an easy mark, or will the push for another candidate because they think she can win...?? magritte
Add Eric Cantor to the list of RINOs who need to lose their next primaries.
I don’t trust Cantor. He leans to being a RINO.
ADDITIONALLY, I don’t think people realize HOW bad the election would have turned out for McCain had Palin not been on his ticket. Palin brought out a bunch of people from the base that might not have otherwise voted at all.
There were some independent voters who didn’t vote based on the Couric-Tina Fey garbage—but those people were already leaning towards Obama anyway, even if they had taken an initial liking to Sarah.
I don’t care what history has shown so far. History changes. The GOP establishment is kidding themseleves if they think the BASE will just vote for anyone who’s not Obama and has an “R” next to their name. That’s not true. Many will either not vote at all or vote 3rd party. The anger conservatives have towards Rinos is equal to (if not more heated) than the anger people have towards Obama.
I can already see the tagline Romney and Cantor will use against her “She resigned as governor.” “She has no experience.” —well Romney’s main accomplishment as governor was a failed socialist healthcare experiment and Cantor hasn’t shown hismelf to be too impressive in challenging the Pelosi-Reid machine either. Palin on the other hand coined “Death Panels” with her facebook note and has done more against the Climate CHange liars with her WaPo Op-Ed than any of them have ever done in their careers.
I’m not sure about your hostility...I’m not a Romney supporter and I’m definitely not an idiot...just giving a little political analysis...didn’t realize it was a Palin fanboy thread...sorry about that...magritte
If Palin is not the candidate, the GOP will lose by a much wider margin than McCain in 2008. If the GOP party hacks are this stupid, then the party needs to disappear.
Well said.
I’m not hostile, but how ignorant do you have to be to think that the republican candidate, in the republican primary, that has by far the strongest republican voter support, is the weakest candidate and would be the one needing the sneaky democrat crossover voters?
It is your guys that do not have the support of the republican base, that would need democrat crossovers to put your guy into play.
Eric Canter is a schmuck. You can just tell when you look at this guy that he thinks he is something special. I don’t care if he thinks Sarah Palin is qualified or not, but he doesn’t have to go on national tv and dump on her like that. Obviously these elitist GOP turds have forgotten the rule of not speaking ill of another Republican. What is wrong with the GOP are people who think they are better then everyone else, that people like Sarah Palin who go out there and speak their mind on the issues are somehow “Stupid” and “not qualified” to say what they feel. SCREW U GOP..Sarah has NEVER said one bad word about any member of the GOP, not one..not even McCain who treated her like crap, she has been nothing but loyal to him, yet these “GOP elitists” have the nerve to come on TV and trash her. Its a good thing I don’t give any of my money to the GOP and I won’t be til they get their act together, which probably will be never. Isn’t it ironic, they have no problem trashing Sarah but they refuse to say anything negative about Obama, just goes to show where their priorities are
agreed.
I am so sick and tired of hearing these GOP “experts” talk about who is qualified and who is not. What the hell has Obama done to qualify himself to be President..he doesn’t have any experience, he hasn’t done a damn thing yet that prick was elected President. Who is the GOP and others to judge if Sarah Palin is qualified. Damn straight she is qualified to be President, wanna know why, she has something called COMMON SENSE, which trumps everything else. I guarentee you this, if she were President right now, we wouldn’t have terrorist countries laughing their asses off at us, we wouldn’t have KSM on his way to New York to be tried for murder where he will make a mockery of our criminal justice system, we wouldn’t be spending trillions of dollars of money we don’t have which our future children and grandchildren will be forced to pay. I’d rather have Sarah Palin as President right now then that narcissistic sack of poo who thinks he deserves a B+ rating for his “job performance” its about damn time we get some good ol fashion common sense back in Washington D.C
SARAH PALIN'S CERTAIN PATH TO ELECTION IN 2012
... and this one ...
Haly Barbour is an expert, the guy is one of the smartest people I know, and he's a great leader".That's because Geraldo said "Haley Barbour question, is she qualified to be President".
So Cantor talked about Haley Barbour.
Geraldo then added his own thoughts, proclaiming that Palin "scared" Barbour and Cantor. But nothing in the interview with Cantor suggested Cantor had anything but respect and admiration for Palin.
Stop trying to stir up trouble. And for God's sake, stop taking talking points from Geraldo.
I agree with you. Cantor wasn’t in studio (it appeared from the video), so he might not have had a good audio feed.
Everything he said about Palin was complimentary. And I’ve never really heard Cantor say bad things about people in our party — he’s in a party position, and tends to say good things about republicans, and defend them against people like Geraldo.
What does it mean to be “qualified for President” anymore? Obama certainly wasn’t. Palin doesn’t have the experience that others might have. Running the federal government isn’t just about having the right positions on issues, there’s an actual government to run.
But she may well be qualified — a lack of experience doesn’t indicate a lack of qualification, it simply fails to provide proof of qualification.
One thing we noticed during the Bush years — he was good at some things he had no experience in, and bad at others. He wasn’t great at picking the right people to serve him, for example.
