I am sorry I haven't been following this ... but why were two democrats the only ones to vote for?
This was a run off. Houston started with a Liberal Lesbian, a Liberal Loony, a Liberal Lawyer and an Hispanic conservative with no money and an unknown name.
The Lawyer and the Lesbian made the run off.
