It’s all about the clout. Who’s going to vote to give that up? People want to hang on to their powerful representatives in Congress and ethics takes a backseat to that. You’re asking people to give up their seniority, essentially. That’s why creeps like Gramnisty keep getting re-elected. The structure is what’s got to change. IMHO.
Not so. He had a big war chest and the SC GOP had to cave. A nobody, no-name, no-money candidate got 30% of the vote in the SC GOP primary. 30% of Republicans came out to vote against Lindsey. That may not sound like a lot, but considering the lack of organization for his opponent, I think that's impressive.
