Yes, indeed. Allowed the Vikings to colonize a lush coastal Greenland, only to kill them off in the deep freeze to follow in the Little Ice Age.

The temps were dropping during the first half of the 14th Century. This caused a large reduction in agricultural production in Europe , and food stocks went down. One reason for the huge toll taken by the Black Death was owing to widespread malnutrition.
