" I am one of those "flaky women" who have fibromyalgia and let me tell you it is a real condition. The pain is real, very real. It just happens that I have found the means to mostly live without the pain of it and I'm running around like a young chick. Your words and attitude are very vulgar and insulting. You sound almost like a scientologist, eg. Tom Cruise. Pray to God that you never have anything as painful as fibromyalgia and that you never have someone saying that your pain is all in your head.

My heartfelt advice to you Freedom is to not take an insult where none was intended towards you. I believe the poster was just expressing his opinion in general towards malingerers he has observed that claim to have fibromylagia. Not you personally.

I realize that now and as I posted to him/her...when I was first told I had fibromyalgia I had the same response about thinking that the doctor was trying to tell me it was all in my head.

Oh, another possible cause is that the brain is interpreting all sensations as pain and hyper doing it.

Actually, I think I over reacted to livius and I'm sorry for that.

I was just thinking of all those who are still in horrible pain reading that and getting even more depressed or feeling hopeless.
