IMO, new police appointees may not be openly gay but will at least voice support for gay movement and “recognize their rights”. Friends who live there said the mood generally was Black versus Caucasian and vote against Obama rather than Gay versus non-Gay. Lots of people have moved to Texas because they did not like the liberal policies in their former state but forgot to leave their garbage behind them. Perry certainly isn’t the most conservative candidate but watch out if KBH is elected Governor. There also has been a big push by the Democratic party to move Texas left. Sad times ahead for our great State of Texas.
Every police chief in the country is a political hack, who toes the party line of the appointing authority.
I have faith that the great state of Texas will persevere.
Houston went to see along time ago. They elected Lee “Out of Town” Brown in the 1990s, after he was almost lynched here in NYC for his incompetence as police chief.
Don’t mess with Texas!
They’re both behavioral choices. We don’t need special honors for a practicing homosexual anymore than we need special honors for someone who likes rye toast. Hence, they shouldn’t have special laws or special insurance coverage because of their lifestyle choice, either. But stories like this pretend this is some sort of sign of progress in the human race.
Perhaps you misunderstood my original post?
Blame California! Good thinken!
Don't mess with Texas....lol....
Your gay mayor was born in Texas....lol
I had a Texan once tell me their illegal aliens were more honorable and respectable than in other states...So I am sure all their gays, fags, lesbians and other assorted twisted deviates are much more in line with their values.
No doubt, the new gay Houston mayor is probably a conservative Christian...
And here I was thinking of moving from the liberal hell-hole of Illinoi$ to Texas. Are there ANY conservative states left??
Give it a try, you might like it.
“I live in the south suburbs”
Me too,in another town.I was thinking just the other day when I passed thru Houston....Lord God! I’m so glad I don’t live in Houston!! To a person that’s lived outside...it would be like moving to NYC.
But, we do have a good highway system around and that’s primarily what I use.
“The policemen backed the other candidate so its going to be a rough ride.”
Sounds like they will be a head butting game going on.
I’ve been to various parts of Texas on brief family and job related visits and I thoroughly enjoyed much of it. My family and I have lived in Illinoi$ all of our lives and desperately want to leave this crooked, socialist hell hole. The problem is finding a job in another state before being able to move there.. especially in this economy.
Are there any contract electronic manufacturers in TX who are hiring and can afford to pay a decent salary for someone with 29 years of top to bottom experience? If so, my resume will be faxed there ASAP.
First of all, the better, least liberal of the two candidates won the Houston mayor's race. So, Houston did well last night elevating the City Controller to mayor.
Texas with a large Hispanic population coming of age and large cities trending more Democrat with white liberals, will become a strong Blue State by 2020.
And while that trend will not help things in Austin, it will devastate the U.S. as it will be almost impossible for the Republicans to ever win the White House with, California, New York, Texas, Florida, Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, NH, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, VT, Washington and Wisconsin all being strong Democratic States.
The above list of States represents more than 300 of the 270 Electoral Votes needed to win the White House.
Actually, the police backed Parker.
No doubt about it.
What happened was all the liberal idiots from the north came down and contaminated our city. Generally Texas is conservative, except for Houston and Austin.
Los Angeles mayor was a gang memer too LOL.
Place blame where it’s needed.
