“He interviewed Rush this week and was surprised by him as well. Shatner is NOT a conservative, even though he played one on television.”

I’m not going by his Denny Crane role (which I enjoyed, BTW). I believe he has claimed in the past to be Republican, and I also believe he’s embraced conservative causes (but I cannot be so sure that I would place any bets on it). I doubt he was surprised by Rush (although I didn’t hear the interview). I don’t think Shatner is a dunce - he knew what he was getting with Rush.

I don’t think Shatner is a dunce ...

*********

I disagree.

Many moons ago, I saw an episode of the game show "$10,000 Pyramid" and the two celeb guests were Bill Shatner and Leonard Nimoy.

After watching the two, yeah ... Shatner is a dunce, at least in comparison. Nimoy blew him completely out of the water, start to finish.

I enjoyed the Denny Crane role as well. The first season of Boston Legal was great, then lefty Candace Bergen became a part of the cast and the political slant to the writing became more lefty and absurd.( I guess that is redundant, now that I think about it)
The first season offered good, thoughtful fodder for discussion about law and morality.
My observation about Shatner’s political views were based on his own comments during his interview with Rush.
