I have personally witnessed Shatner engage in the behavior of a perfectly red-blooded lecherous old hetero-sexual male -- specifically, flirting (quietly, in a corner away from where people were gathered) shamelessly with a babe-a-licious gal young enough to be his granddaughter!!! It was very amusing and I was being rather covert in my observation; it was at a time and place that was relatively quiet and non-public. And by golly if it didn't make me like the old fart even more than I already did (I had expected not to like him much at all). He's NOT fat -- he was in very good shape considering his age, and the puffiness in his face was the kind that comes from aging, not drink or excess. Believe me, I'm qualified to identify the latter.
I would never take a bet as to what Shatner's politics are, but I would bet hard-earned dough that he's as straight as any man who ever lived and very likely lacks any substance addictions. It came across loud and clear: he likes his fellow human beings a lot, no doubt regardless of their sexual orientation -- he's a people person. Unlike Obama and so many libs, contempt for his fellow human beings is foreign to him; it's not his nature. But he ESPECIALLY likes pretty women.
