I'm sending out a search party for that document as we speak.

It was a copy of the Certificate of Live Birth that was applied for and signed by Madelyn Dunham. The absence of the signature by the birth mother gave me pause. I use my family documents as a comparison and this one most resembled those. However, it was a short form only and I have both long and short forms as a basis.

I wasn't arguing a matter of semantics, just pointing out the convoluted rational of Hawaiian law makers to benefit the Territory, later the State and their own self interests. Their intent became law and though I also do not agree with it, it's a done deal.

In addition to the reasons expressed in the subsequent replies casting serious doubt on the provenance of the documents, I find it improbable because it cannot be squared with the public statements of the officials of the state of Hawaii. If they've examined the file and found a document which states that Obama was born in Kenya, they could not honestly publicly aver the contrary.

I find it very unlikely that they would publicly lie about a matter in which they could be categorically contradicted and therefore I add this to the list of reasons why the document is bogus.
